In September at NETWORK, ASA’s annual conference held this year in Washington, D.C., we celebrated 50 years of our association leading our industry.

As a long-time ASA member, I have seen the expanded value given to us by our national association year after year.

As business leaders, you know the importance of building your business network.

If you are like me, you read the article titled “How committed is your organization to training” in our ASA News section in the May issue of Supply House Times with a degree of alarm and concern.

As the industry’s national association, ASA is in a unique position to influence building and product codes, federal and state regulatory issues as well as legislation, as it emerges. 

1969 was a very iconic year in our nation’s history.

It is a true honor to have been chosen to be your ASA national president for 2019, which is our association’s 50th year leading our industry.

Every year over the past decade, ASA and its leadership has invested millions of dollars improving our value proposition for our members. Our emergence as the most influential organization in our industry has come at a time when distributors are facing change at a pace that we have never seen before in our lifetimes.

One of the four cornerstones of ASA’s value proposition is offering a robust advocacy effort to protect the interest of our association’s members.
