Winston Salem, North Carolina-based Murray Supply Co., a MORSCO brand, hosted its annual company-wide recognition dinner recently at the Benton Convention Center in downtown Winston Salem.

This annual event recognizes Murray associates and their accomplishments from the previous year. One of the highlights of the evening was the inspiring speech delivered by Charlie Murray, regional vice president U.S. Eastern Plumbing Division, in which he reflected on the history of Murray Supply and its future ahead.

“We will continue to grow because of the quality of talent we have at the company across the organization,” he said. “We will continue to grow because of the quality of the people in this room and at the other brands that constantly challenge us to be better than we are.”

Following the speech there was an awards ceremony where associates received safe-driving awards, milestone service awards, sales achievements and employee of the year awards.

The safe driving awards were presented to Murray Supply truck drivers who maintained an accident-free record throughout 2017. The recipients included Kendall Ziglar, Lawrence Hagenah, Leroy Davis, Clifford Owens, Daniel Kelly, Mario Dixon, Jeffrey Setzer, Kevin Thorne, Branden Fournier, Terrell Webb, Anthony Thompson, Brian McCrimmon, Lonnie McNair and John Mack.

Five-year service awards were presented to Todd Pressel, Patrick Neal Simons, Tony Morgan, BJ Jant and Terrah McGee. Ten-year service awards were presented to Anthony Yarborough, Forrest Adams, Bucky Hinson and Brooks Jester. Twenty-year service awards were presented to Wynn Crumbley, Joe Jackson and Jim Yount. Bobby Williams received the 25-year service award. Thirty-year service awards went to Mike Wood, Guy Smith and Mike Mabe.

For sales, Dennis Hefner of the Hickory branch received the Tim Norman Sales Leadership Award. For the Plumbing Division, Jared Smith from the Charlotte branch won the runner-up largest percentage increase gross profit sales award. Elliot Mauney from the Columbia, South Carolina branch won the first-place largest percentage increase gross profit sales award. Randy Dalton from the Charlotte branch won the top gross profit dollar producer award.

For the Maintenance Repair and Operations Division, Tony Morgan received the sales plan achievement award. Morgan also received both the highest percentage increase over sales plan award and the top gross profit dollar producer award.

Each branch location awarded a 2017 employee of the year recipient. These individuals included Jant from the Charlotte branch, Mabe from the Winston-Salem branch, Jamie Williams from the Raleigh Branch, Eric Allen from the Raleigh MRO branch, Kevin Thorne from the Hickory Branch, Nicole Hedrick from the industrial branch, Pierre McCraw from the Columbia branch, Chad Ficik from the Charleston branch and Smith from the Murray Supply support center. Murray Supply named Brian Harris, general manager of the Charlotte market, the 2017 employee of the year for the company.

The 2017 branch of the year award was presented to the industrial division. Sunbelt Marketing, Inc., received the 2017 vendor of the year award. Special guest Tom Menefee, president of Sunbelt, accepted the award.
