The American Supply Association’s Emerging Leaders Division is dedicated to guiding your company’s future leaders to tackle our industry’s challenges. With today’s middle-manager becoming tomorrow’s principal, this division of future leaders continues to seek opportunities to address specific educational and networking needs of new managers and executives as well as open the door for building key industry relationships.

Annual Spring Forum

The division offers educational and networking opportunities throughout the year for developing and refining the skills needed to become the future leaders in the industry. The annual Spring Forum, held at the end of May, is the best opportunity for the next generation of industry leaders to learn new concepts and skills, cultivate profitable relationships with different channel partners from across the country, and enjoy the camaraderie for which ASA events are widely known. Nearly 190 future leaders gathered in Jersey City, New Jersey May 21-23, to further develop their skills and form key relationships critical to the success of a future leader.

Each year, the Spring Forum allows an opportunity for attendees to participate in a facility tour. ASA continues to receive very positive feedback on the value this brings to the program. This year, American Standard, DXV and GROHE, part of LIXIL Water Technology, hosted more than 100 attendees on a tour of its product testing facility located in Piscataway, New Jersey.

Roundtable discussions

The roundtable discussions, at the Spring Forum, continue to be an indispensable part of this highly popular event. These invaluable discussions offer a competitive advantage that helps to ensure attendees exchange ideas for implementing best practices. These informative roundtable discussions are excellent opportunities for all attendees to learn from one another about direct and efficient practices focused on sales, marketing, purchasing, operations, technology and vendor relations. Registered attendees are surveyed prior to the event to compile the most relevant topics of interest.

Not only is the goal of the Emerging Leaders Division to attract the future leaders of our industry, but to also retain and develop them. In fact, many industry veterans continue to say that ongoing learning and education enhanced by peer-to-peer relationships forged at industry programs are key to their success and profitability. A first-time attendee and brand-new member to the division had this to say about the recent Jersey City Spring Forum:

“I think this event was amazing, informative and something all young leaders should attend. This was well-put-together and the topics discussed were very important, especially to those who are new to the division, like myself.”

Make a commitment and be a part of the future leaders of our industry. For more information on the division, or how to join, visit asa.net/emergingleaders.
