Southern Pipe & Supply announced the acquisition of a state of the art, 500,000 square-foot distribution center in Meridian, Mississippi.

The American Supply Association’s Alice A. Martin Woman of the Year Award was presented to Delta Faucet Co. Senior Director, National Trade Sales Suzanne Chreene at the recent ASA Women in Industry ELEVATE2022 spring conference in Louisville. 

After more than two years apart, the Luxury Products Group (LPG) Advisory Committee came together in person, at Central Arizona Supply in Mesa, Arizona, and spent a productive day discussing future group aspirations, opportunities for improvement and ways to ensure longevity. 

The American Supply Association (ASA) is part of a coalition that supports Colorado House Bill 1358, Clean Water in Schools And Child Care Centers, and is offering technical amendments that clarify the intent of this bill.

One of our 34 stops last year was at Dakota Supply Group. Paul Kennedy, the distributor’s CEO, said the tour stop was inspiring to his team. “I don’t think anyone has been able to articulate what we do as distributors as well as you are doing on this tour you are on. Zurn Industries announced an expansion with Stone-Drew/Ashe & Jones (SDAJ), a leading commercial plumbing sales agency, effective May 1. SDAJ will take over for Mechagents, which spans Zurn’s portfolio of finish plumbing, water safety and control, and drainage solutions, and has represented Elkay for 66 years. Together, Zurn and SDAJ will be positioned to grow market share across the Pacific Northwest to meet the needs of customers with an expanded portfolio.

Danny Mariscal, chairman emeritus of Hirsch Pipe & Supply Co. located in Southern California passed away at the age of 83 on Feb. 8. His 57-year commitment to Hirsch Pipe & Supply Co., our employees and our customers will be sadly missed, but never forgotten.Danny started working at Hirsch as a bookkeeper in 1965 under the direction of Joe Hirsch. He quickly saw all sides of Hirsch, from completing odd jobs around the warehouse to assisting with sales at the counter. Through this experience, Danny fell in love with the organization, leading him to rise the ranks to become office manager.

Sorry James Brown, but this is no longer a “Man’s World.” Today, women work in just about every field and industry, proving they can do just about anything a man can do. U.S. Census statistics show more and more women have been entering previously considered male-dominated industries, including construction.

However, though women make up nearly half of the U.S. workforce, only 2.1% are plumbers, pipefitters and steamfitters, according to the U.S. Department of Labor’s Bureau of Labor Statistics as of January 2022.
