As the industry’s only national trade association, the American Supply Association is uniquely positioned to be the voice of the industry. With that comes the responsibility to want the ball when it comes to advocating positions that will benefit our members and the industry as a whole.
The topic of labor, labor shortages and replacing retiring workers isn’t going away anytime soon. Of course, ASA last year launched its PROJECT TALENT careers recruitment initiative aimed at helping our industry replace the 100,000 jobs that will become open because of retirements over the next 10 years.

Given today’s rapidly changing business environment, strengthening a company’s ability to compete will require leaders to think about their businesses like they never have before. Today’s environment requires a new level of strategic vision, growth mindset, planning, investment, expanding skill sets and taking risks to stay relevant and compete.
Steel prices are at an all-time high. We have seen a 14% increase already this year (malleable iron and welded nipples) with another 7% expected in Q3 2021.
Joining a national association and adding your name to those that give of their company to build a stronger industry and stronger future is not life-threatening by any means. No one is shooting at us and our lives aren’t at risk.
