Theodore August Wiedeman, age 87, died September 27, 2016, after a brief illness.

Wiedeman began a life-long career in the family business, Reeves-Wiedeman Company, a plumbing and heating distributor founded in 1887, after retiring as a captain in the U.S. Air Force. He is past president and director of the Mid-America Supply Association (MASA), past director of the national American Supply Association (ASA) and past Board of Governor for the ASA’s political action committee. Wiedeman retired from Reeves-Wiedeman Co. as Co-Chairman of the Board in 1994.

A mass of Christian burial will be held at Visitation Catholic Church, 5141 Main St. in Kansas City, Mo. 64112 on Saturday, October 1 at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be held immediately following the mass at Calvary Cemetery. There will be no wake. 

Wiedeman was born on January 9, 1929, in Kansas City as the second son of Walter A. Wiedeman and Alice Schweiger Wiedeman. He was married on June 7, 1952, to Drolette Ann Bradley. He is survived by his children: Ted (Molly); David; Reeves (Fifi); Alison Ward (Scott); Kurt (Kathleen); Rick (Lorena); and Amy Thompson (Mark) and 21 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his son David, his siblings John and Anne, and his wife Drolette.  

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in his name to Rockhurst High School, Rockhurst University and St Luke’s Hospital Foundation located in Kansas City, Mo.
