Collins Pipe & Supply Co., the subject of this month's cover story, has been appointed a master distributor of Velan Steam Traps. The Collins warehouse in East Windsor, Conn., will contain the inventory.

Now one of the world's leading steel valve manufacturers, Velan once made steam traps for the U.S. Navy among other customers and marketed the company as "America's Favorite Steam Trap." The company left the steam trap business for 15 years, recently reacquired the steam trap line from Plenty Steam Products.

Velan's "Piping King" steam traps are geared toward power plant conditions with a range up to 2600 psi and 1100 degrees F.
