The Wayne, Pa.-based AD buying group reported record-breaking sales in 2017 across its 12 divisions. Member sales totaled $37.3 billion. Total company sales grew by 10%, while purchases from AD suppliers grew by 17%. Distributions to members were up 14%.

On a same-store basis by industry: Electrical sales were up 10% in 2017; PHCP was up 9%; Industrial/PT were up 8%; and Building Materials was up 16%. By country, same-store sales in the U.S. grew 8%; Canada was up 9% and Mexico grew 12%.

“2017 was a fantastic year for AD and our members. Across every AD industry and in every country in which we operate we saw record-breaking numbers,” AD Chairman and CEO Bill Weisberg said. “AD programs made a real difference in helping our members compete in their markets.”

Weisberg noted AD eCommerce Solutions ended the year with 2.4 million SKUs across six AD business units, while AD members spent close to $1 million on AD HR Services. He added AD Procurement Services saved AD members more than $5 million in non-product purchases.”

Weisberg called AD members “a force of good” in reference to the group’s AD Disaster Relief Foundation, which raised and distributed more than $200,000 to 39 men and women who work for AD member and supplier companies and survived  hurricanes Harvey and Maria, and the California wildfires.
