In an effort to be fully engaged in the codes arena, the American Supply Association recently announced it will serve as a voting member in the development of the ASHRAE 62.1 “Ventilation for Acceptable Indoor Air Quality” standard.

Hugo Aguilar, ASA’s director of codes and standards, has been appointed to represent ASA as a full committee voting member. The standard is a nationally recognized and approved American National Standard. The standard specifies the minimum ventilation rates and other measures for new and existing buildings. Aside from ventilation rates, the standard also addresses system and equipment provisions such as variable air volume (VAV) systems, sensors, ducts and drain pans.
