Meridian, Miss.-based Southern Pipe & Supply Co., our 2013 Supply House of the Year, recently announced it has joined the Affiliated Distributors buying group.

AD is a community of independent distributors and manufacturers of construction and industrial products. AD includes 620 members operating more than 3,600 locations worldwide with combined annual sales in excess of $28 billion.

“Affiliated Distributors offers Southern Pipe valuable support and in-depth resources that will help us accelerate our growth and leverage our buying power. We’ll also benefit from AD’s support in data collection, report tracking, training, marketing and advertising, and problem solving,” Southern Pipe& Supply President Jay Davidson said. “Southern Pipe is known for our commitment to our employees and our customers. This affiliation will enhance our ability to serve both groups well.

Southern Pipe & Supply, which celebrated its 75th anniversary in 2013, is one of the nation’s largest privately held independent wholesalers of plumbing, heating, air conditioning, industrial, and water and sewer supplies. It operates 96 locations in seven states serving residential and commercial plumbing, HVAC and waterworks customers.
