An important priority for any successful business as well as for the industry is to identify and connect the people who represent the next generation of leadership. ASA’s Young Executives (YE) Division is focused on developing the necessary skills and cultivating key relationships that are critical for the next generation of leadership to succeed in the industry.

“Over the past four years, we have redefined the annual Spring Forum program and made the Young Executives into one of the fastest growing segments of membership in ASA,” said Dennis Crump, Chairman of ASA’s Young Execs. Instrumental to this success has been the generous support from supplier partners, including Kohler Co. for this year’s event held in late May.

Nearly 60 people representing 22 wholesalers, 14 manufacturers and vendors as well as four independent manufacturer representative firms attended this year’s event in Kohler, WI. The CEO Strategist, Rick Johnson, Ph.D., helped participants understand how to create a culture that demands a sense of urgency and inspires active involvement, innovation and creativity among employees that builds mutual commitment to action. According to Jeff Worly, YE Vice Chairman, “Rick Johnson’s presentations were timely as many of us are facing today’s economic stresses and uncertain business conditions for the first time in our professional careers.”

In addition to sponsoring the welcome reception, Herbert V. Kohler Jr., chairman of the board and CEO of the Kohler Co., shared a most insightful presentation during dinner, and Kohler Co. also provided attendees with an extensive tour of its manufacturing facilities and the Design Center located in Kohler, WI. Bill Kenny, ASA President, thanked Herbert V. Kohler Jr., David Kohler, Frank Windsor and Jim Mayer for their investment in ASA and this program.

“This event was an overwhelming success because of the extent to which these individuals lend Kohler Co.’s tremendous support,” Kenny said.

Next year’s program is already scheduled for May 21-23, 2012, in New Orleans, LA.  Complete information will be available this September at NetworkASA2011: ALL IN andwww.asa.net.
