ASA IPD
Provides Opportunities for PVF Companies
ASA’s Industrial Piping Division (IPD) will continue its tradition of offering educational programs and networking opportunities for distributors and manufacturers who serve the industrial and mechanical PVF market.
On Thursday, October 2, the IPD Breakfast Program will feature Dr. Jeff Dietrich, senior analyst at the Institute of Trend Research, who will present an overview of the U.S. and global economies, focusing on the impact of China, India and other emerging nations on the industrial and mechanical PVF industry.
In addition to Dr. Dietrich’s presentation, the IPD Award of Excellence will be presented for the first time during the business portion of the session. The IPD Award of Excellence honors an IPD member who has a record of significant accomplishment and recognition in the PVF industry. All IPD members will want to be present to witness this groundbreaking event.
This event is being sponsored by IPD member Weldbend, the industry leader in welding fittings and flanges.
Following up to last year’s successful evening of networking, the IPD Open House – Building Relationships also will take place on Thursday, October 2 at 6:00pm. This event is designed as an enhancement of the ever-popular IPD Reception, with an expanded length and areas for participating manufacturers to meet with current and potential distributors to discuss issues and opportunities to grow business.
In support of strengthening the entire wholesale channel of distribution, IPD will once again sponsor an educational seminar open to all Network’08 registered attendees on a topical issue greatly impacting the entire industry. The metals market is being affected by many different factors, which makes it challenging for many companies today to follow the trends and anticipate the future. IPD has brought in Bob Weidner, President and Chief Executive Officer of the Metals Service Center Institute, to present his findings on the positive and negative impacts of foreign entities and global consolidation on the supply chain and the forces that are shaping industry competition. This is a must attend for all distributors and manufacturers interested in this important topic.
