The theme and discussions at Network’08 center around some of the most pressing topics facing our industry today. One such issue is the speed-of-light movement that is environmental responsibility and “Going Green.” The concepts driving sustainability and responsibility permeate your business on a 360º scope: customer demands, employee expectations, vendor partnering, government regulations, job opportunities. In order to compete effectively in these days of “Green,” ASA has identified areas in which it can support its members through education and opportunity. Several seminars at Network’08 speak directly to these topics, including:

Conserving America's Water Resources: Business Sense,Water Sense, Common Sense

EPA Administrator Stephen L. Johnson will speak about why water has become a national priority and how the EPA’s WaterSense program, of which ASA is a partner, seeks to protect the future of our nation’s water supply by promoting water efficiency and enhancing the market for water efficiency products.

Understanding the National Green Building Landscape

Robin Pharo, president of Healthy Homes, a green/healthy building consultancy firm, will conduct a seminar on what is happening on a national level within the green building industry, specifically the three different national programs: the NAHB Model Green Building Guidelines, the ICC/NAHB National Green Building Standard, and the U.S. Green Building Council’s LEED for Homes.

Greening Your Bottom Line

In her second seminar at Network’08, Robin Pharo will discuss how being a green business is an opportunity for companies to put themselves ahead of competitors, increase profits, reduce their cost base and differentiate their firms to gain more customers.

PLUS– an opportunity to tour the Georgia World Congress Center and discover what they’re doing to “go green.”
