Obituary...Carroll Joseph “Kit” Haas II
Carroll Joseph “Kit” Haas II, 63, former
president of Colonial Engineering, Portage, MI, died unexpectedly June 19 at
his home. After earning his doctorate in engineering at the University of
Michigan School of Engineering, he lectured there for several years.
In 1982 he joined Colonial Engineering, a manufacturer and marketer of thermoplastic pipe fittings, valves and piping components to wholesalers in the industrial PVF, process piping, water treatment, pool/spa, commercial plumbing and irrigation markets. He succeeded his father, Carroll J. Haas, as president in 1994. He spent time in Asia developing the company’s line of plastic valves and managed its U.S. pipefitting manufacturing sites. He retired in 2002.
