Joseph D. Barry, 84, former president of Barry Co. passed away Aug. 31, 2008. He was an Army Veteran of World War II. He served in Patton's 3rd Army in Europe. He married Mary Korty on May 25, 1957 in Lafayette, IN.  He joined the family business, Barry Company, a wholesale distributor of plumbing and piping products, in 1947. He became President in 1979 and continued in that capacity until 2004.

He was active in various trade organizations over the years, including The Indianapolis PHCC, Central Wholesalers Association, American Supply Association. He was a member of Meridians Hills Country Club, Indianapolis Athletic Club, Players Club, Service Club, and USAC Winners Circle Club. He was a charter member of St. Luke Catholic Church.

Joe had a wide circle of friends who kept him active, going to the many places he enjoyed most. He was very grateful to all those who contributed to the wonderful times he had.
