NIBCO plans to close its Denmark, SC, plastic manufacturing facilities and transition its operations to the company’s plants in Goshen, IN, and Greensboro, GA, according to Steve Malm, president and chief operating officer. Malm said in a statement that to remain competitive in a global economy “we must continually seek ways to contain manufacturing costs, improve customer service, and lower inventory investment.” The Denmark, SC, facility has been operating since 1984, according to Donny Brown, plant manager. “It’s unfortunate that economic conditions have forced us to make the difficult but necessary decision to consolidate plastics manufacturing,” he said in a statement.
