In an effort to draw more professional builders and contractors to its Pro sections, The Home Depot is leasing space to Dunkin' Donuts in two test locations. A full-service 220-sq.-ft. Dunkin' Donuts store with seating and Internet hook-up has opened in the Pro section of a Home Depot store in Manchester, Conn., and another Home Depot in South Attleboro, Mass.
A third test location may open in the future. The two test sites were chosen on the basis of location and customer volume. Both companies will evaluate the test results and determine if further expansion is warranted in 2003.
In financial news, Home Depot reported an increase in earnings of 29.9% for the second quarter ended Aug. 4, and a sales increase of 11.6%.
