They were hand-picked by your Conference Chair – Jon Wiggs, CPMR, CPSC, President, Wiggs-Haun & Bohan – to be your Opening Keynote, your Economist, and your Coach at the AIM/R 52nd Annual Conference (Sept. 17 – 20, 2024) in Music City USA. For a preview of each presenter, please continuing reading.

Tactical empathy

We begin on Wednesday, Sept. 18th, with Chris Voss, The Black Swan Group. He takes the stage to kick-off the AIM/R 52nd Annual Conference (Sept. 17 –21, 2024).

Chris will share strategies from his years of experience as an FBI Negotiator and from his book – Never Split the Difference: Negotiating as if Your Life Depended On It®. Participants learn how to:

  • Obtain business outcomes without compromise
  • Consider counterintuitive tactics
  • Transition to a collaboration vs. cutthroat mindset
  • Take emotional intelligence and intuition to a higher level in their businesses.

Chris is known as “The Master Negotiator”. A title earned throughout his time serving as the lead Crisis Negotiator for the New York City Division of the FBI, and then as the lead international kidnapping negotiator for the FBI where he helped develop the skills still used today across FBI hostage negotiators. He proceeded to teach business negotiation at USC, Georgetown, and Harvard business schools.

In 2008, Chris founded The Black Swan Group, which specializes in teaching you how to never leave money on the table by using hostage negotiation techniques. In May 2016, he published the international best-seller Never Split The Difference: Negotiation As If Your Life Depended On It to teach people everywhere how to apply these life-changing hostage negotiation techniques in their daily lives.

He is proficient in negotiating with real terrorists, giving him plenty of context to help in the corporate world, where companies seem to get legally taken “hostage” all the time.

Laughter and economics?

Elliot Eisenberg – otherwise known as “The Bowtie Economist” – will make you laugh, even though the current economy may bring tears. Be sure to rise early on Thursday, September 19th, for his update on The U.S. Economy in 2025.

Elliot Eisenberg, Ph.D. is an internationally acclaimed economist and public speaker specializing in making economics fun, relevant and educational. Dr. Eisenberg earned a B.A. in economics with first class honors from McGill University in Montreal, as well as a Master and Ph.D. in public administration from Syracuse University. Eisenberg is the Chief Economist for GraphsandLaughs, LLC, a Miami-based economic consultancy that serves a variety of clients across the United States. He writes a syndicated column and authors a daily 70-word commentary on the economy that is available at www.econ70.com.

AIM/R Speakers: Chris Voss, Nancy Milton, and Elliot Eisenberg

Dr. Eisenberg has spoken hundreds of business groups and associations, serving as keynote speaker on topics including economic forecasts, economic impact of industries such as homebuilding, consequences of government regulation, and other current economic issues. Dr. Eisenberg has been invited to testify before lawmakers and is often asked to comment on proposed legislation. His research and opinions have been featured in Bloomberg Businessweek, Bureau of National Affairs, Forbes, Fortune, and many other publications. He is a regularly featured guest on talk and public radio.

Dr. Eisenberg was formerly a Senior Economist with the National Association of Home Builders in Washington, D.C. He is the creator of the multifamily stock index (the first nationally recognized index to track the total return of public firms principally involved in the ownership and management of apartments), the author of more than 100 articles, serves on the Expert Advisory Board of Mortgage Market Guide and is a regular consultant to several large real estate professional associations, financial institutions and investment advisory groups.

From Conflict to resolution

Not once but twice you can hear Nancy Milton, Executive & Leadership Coach, NMI, Inc. at the AIM/R 52nd Annual Conference (Sept. 17 –21, 2024).

Nancy is a communication and leadership facilitator and coach, working with all levels of leaders in individual and team settings to help them understand themselves more deeply and create transformational impact in their personal and professional lives. Facilitating a non-judgmental space of profound trust, Nancy challenges clients to deepen self-awareness, build on their strengths, and explore areas for growth. She believes that when we choose to live fully, with purpose and honor in our values, we will be our full potential and create meaningful results. Nancy has spent 25+ years elevating the potential of people and their organizations as an instructor, leader, speaker, communicator, facilitator, and coach, internationally. Nancy’s business has grown through warm-lead referral. 100% of her business came from warm leads for the first 9.5 years, and more recently shifted to 85% with clients finding her through web searches.

Nancy will present two sessions at the Annual Conference. However, for a sneak peek, click here to hear Nancy in her own words.

Conflict management – Wednesday, Sept. 19

SAY YES TO CONFLICT. Lots of people would rather avoid a situation entirely than have a tough conversation. In this session attendees will first learn about their primary conflict response. Then, through a series of engaging (individual and group) activities, shifts will be made to ease participants to explore other ways to have conversations, with results.

Restore trust –Thursday, Sept. 20

TRUST: GET, GIVE, REPEAT. Trust is foundational to communication; In Nancy’s opinion without trust you have squat. In this session you will clearly define what trust means to you personally and www.nancymilton.ca why it’s important that you know and own that. Additional time will be spent exploring how to develop it, create an anchor to it and how to bring it back, once it has been/felt lost.

Don’t miss Chris. Commit today. Registration and housing for the AIM/R 52nd Annual Conference (Sept. 17 –21, 2024) are open. Please visit the official website to for the Schedule, Accommodations, and Registration
