Five things to know about ASA's new recruitment tool

December 11, 2023

ASA members can now supplement their recruitment efforts through a new feature announced last week.

;As part of ASA’s PROJECT TALENT, members who are actively recruiting can have their companies highlighted on a U.S. map found on supplyindustrycareers.com, a website designed to attract jobseekers to the PHCP and PVF industry. The map allows potential candidates to search opportunities in specific states or regions.

While all ASA members are represented on this map, only those who have indicated in the ASA.net member portal that they are actively hiring will be clearly highlighted so the jobseeker can seamlessly link to member websites where the local recruiting and hiring process can begin.

To fully benefit from this new tool requires some action on your part. Here are five things to know about this new feature and to boost your recruitment results.

Activate the “Has Available Jobs” on your asa.net company profil

To ensure your company gets highlighted as a member currently hiring, you must activate the “Has Available Jobs” option in your company’s profile on asa.net.  By turning this on, jobseekers can clearly see that you are hiring and link directly to your website for more information. This is also an opportunity to review your company’s information, including website URL, telephone number and email address and update as needed.

Who can update your company’s asa.net profile and activate the “Has Available Jobs” option?

For security purposes, only a member’s primary and billing contact are able to make changes to a company profile on asa.net, including activating the “Has Available Jobs” option. If you need to know who these contacts are in your company or need to change these contacts, please send a message to info@asa.net.

Updates are made to supplyindustrycareers.com nightly

Any changes made to your company’s profile on asa.net are transmitted to supplyindustrycareers.com each night.  With more than 5,000 individual records, this update is done overnight so as to not affect the performance of the site during the hours it’s most visited. So, please wait until the day after making changes to confirm them on supplyindustrycareers.com.

Enabling the “Has Available Jobs” feature in a company’s profile activates it for all locations

Almost all ASA members with multiple locations manage recruiting and hiring centrally. Therefore, by activating the “Has Available Jobs” option, all company branches or locations will show as “Now Hiring” on supplyindustrycareers.com with the company’s primary website listed.

Website checklist

Attracting jobseekers to supplyindustrycareers.com is done through a comprehensive social media and email marketing campaign. Once a potential candidate gets to the site and decides to look further into opportunities with ASA members, it’s critical your website is updated and ready to provide the best possible candidate experience.

Recently, at ASA’s annual NETWORK event, two Texas A&M students shared with attendees the importance of a company’s website in their jobseeking process. To help make sure your career website provides the best experience possible, ASA has developed a checklist of best practices to make sure you’re putting your best recruitment foot forward. You can download the checklist here.

Current and future staffing needs remain key issues for ASA members. This new website feature and PROJECT TALENT are designed to support member needs in this area. Please contact info@asa.net with any questions or comments regarding PROJECT TALENT.

PROJECT TALENT is a component of ASA’s Employee Recruitment and Education goal, one of four mega goals included in the Association’s strategic plan. This goal includes the objective of developing and implementing a program to attract and grow the number of talented workers taking advantage of fulfilling career opportunities in the PHCP/PVF industry.
