Thrive Technologies announced Houston-based Century A/C Supply is the latest company to seek its supply chain planning software to help wholesale-distributors maintain high standards of customer service.
Century A/C Supply is a privately-owned wholesale-distributor of HVAC equipment and supplies, serving residential and commercial air conditioning contractors, apartment complexes, schools, government entities and industrial companies throughout Texas. With 26 branches statewide, the company operates three strategic distribution centers that hold an expansive inventory of air conditioning and heating parts – providing its customers with efficient one-stop shopping and access to a substantial selection of in-stock products. The company prides itself on offering the best brands and unmatched customer service reminiscent of smaller “mom and pop” operations.
“Since Century is an HVAC wholesaler, our business is very seasonal,” said Century Vice President of Purchasing Steve Fair. “Thrive’s configurable forecasting has allowed us to buy a little further ahead of seasons, keeping our warehouse well-stocked ahead of vendor shortages with longer lead times.”
By utilizing Thrive’s inventory optimization software, Century was able to protect the inventory at their distribution centers, which double as sales locations, without increasing their overall inventory position. This is something that other systems were not able to accomplish for them in the past. Once Century got their inventory policies dialed in, they learned to trust the suggested orders from Thrive, allowing the company to start automating a lot of the vendor buying process.
