Kearney, Nebraska-based Holmes Plumbing and Heating Supply is celebrating its 50th anniversary this spring. Holmes, founded March 10, 1968, is a distributor of plumbing and heating products in south-central Nebraska.

“We are a one-location independent wholesaler — one of only a few remaining in our region,” General Manager Chuck Prochaska explained.

To celebrate the landmark anniversary, Holmes Plumbing and Heating Supply, an American Supply Association member as well as a member of the Omni, Luxury Products Group and Blue Hawk buying groups, is holding a two-day event June 14-15.

On June 14, the company will sponsor a contractor-rep golf tournament. During the evening, Holmes will host a banquet at a convention center to recognize all its employees, rep agencies and factories, “who are present and who we have done business with for many years — a handful actually from day one,” Prochaska said.

Holmes also will recognize a plumbing contractor shop that was the distributor’s first customer and still is in business in Kearney.

The following day on June 15, Holmes will sponsor a few contractor continuing education seminars and then will host a customer appreciation open house with factory rep/manufacturers rep table-top displays.

“Our contractors and customers will be invited to spend the day with us enjoying live music, free food and drink, working displays, door prizes and much more,” Prochaska noted. “We are expecting in excess of 200 people at this event.”
