Registration is now open for Women in Industry’s ELEVATE2022 conference that takes place April 20-22 at the Hyatt Regency in Louisville, Kentucky.

South West Pacific Distributors, a region of ASA, will host its annual SWPD Leadership Conference March 31-April 1 at the Renaissance Esmeralda Resort & Spa in Indian Wells, California.

The second and final special industry compensation study conducted by the American Supply Association and business intelligence partner Industry Insights is now available.

As we emerge from this seemingly never-ending pandemic, I realize how much I value connecting with my industry friends. 

As distributors have navigated the past two years full of new challenges and unprecedented circumstances, the power and importance of learning from peers and engaging in educational resources has become more important than ever before. The American Supply Association has long provided networking and educational opportunities for its members, and its partnership with the Association Education Alliance (AEA) and involvement with the annual University of Innovative Distribution (UID) conference is one example.

ASA Chief Economist Chris Kuehl is back Wednesday, Jan. 18 at 2 p.m. Eastern/1 p.m. Central with his first ASA economic update webinar of the year, taking a look at the 2022 forecast. 

I can’t believe that is has been nearly 10 years since Joe Poehling of First Supply flew out to visit me at our offices in New Hampshire to pitch me on the value of getting active in ASA. Joe was ASA president at the time, and I always looked up to him as an industry leader and great business person. Little did I know that meeting would eventually lead me to taking over as the 53rd president of ASA.  Guess I should have known that Joe is way too good of a salesman! 

On Dec. 16, the U.S. Department of Energy officially reversed weakened showerhead standards adopted under the previous administration. Since 1994, showerheads have been limited to a 2.5-gallon-per-minute (gpm) standard, and in 2013 this requirement was amended to ensure the 2.5-gpm standard applies to fixtures with more than one showerhead. The rules adopted in 2020 allowed each individual showerhead to meet the 2.5-gpm standard (for example, a fixture with three showerheads could use 7.5 gpm), while also exempting body sprays from the standard.

University of Innovative Distribution, to be held March 21-24 in Indianapolis, is open for registration and seats are filling fast.
