Producer prices for HDPE pipe were up 4.6% M/M (up 8.1% last month) and were up 61.5% Y/Y (up 58.1% Y/Y last month). Plastic pipe fittings and unions were up 2.6% M/M (up 6.3% last month) and were up 41.2% Y/Y (up 31.8% last month).

Steel prices are at an all-time high. We have seen a 14% increase already this year (malleable iron and welded nipples) with another 7% expected in Q3 2021.

A three-wall mural on the F.W. Webb wholesale store in West Harlem, New York is now complete. The west Harlem location opened in June. The exterior mural by renowned local graffiti artists Tats Cru took two and a half weeks to complete and covers three sides of the building at 2350 12th Ave. It visually represents F.W. Webb with images of plumbing and heating fixtures and PVF. It also highlights some of the brands that the location stocks.

IMARK Plumbing and Luxury Products Group held its summer invitational in Marco Island, Florida in late July. This was the group’s second in-person event since the onset of the pandemic. Members and suppliers gathered at the JW Marriot Marco Island Beach Resort and Spa for group updates, industry insights and networking. Respondents to ASA’s monthly sales report registered a 15.4% change in average sales for July 2021 vs. July 2020. July 2021 vs. June 2021, respondents reported a median sales decrease of -5.7%.

Dakota Supply Group (DSG) announced the acquisition of Montana Waterworks & Irrigation (MTWW) in an asset purchase effective September 1. Montana Waterworks is a waterworks distributor serving Eastern Montana from its Billings location. This will be DSG’s first waterworks location in the state.
