By expanding its internal training faculty, HARDI ensures its programs remain up to date, aligned with industry trends, and responsive to the evolving real-world challenges facing distributors and their teams.
Despite the industry’s rapid adoption of A2L equipment, many distributors still hold limited R-410A inventory, which is at risk due to the installation prohibition in the EPA’s Technology Transition Rule. Under current rules, certain categories of residential and light commercial equipment may not be installed after specific deadlines, even if the equipment was manufactured before those dates and purchased in good faith.
HARDI released its monthly TRENDS report, showing sales by HARDI distributors increased by 6.8% during July 2025. The annual sales growth for the 12 months through July 2025 is an increase of 3.3%.
The refrigerant shortage causes frustration; technicians and contractors face delays because equipment is ready but can't be installed without refrigerant. Distributors get calls from customers struggling to stay on schedule. While these concerns are valid, it's important to understand industry efforts to fix the issue and avoid being misled by bad actors profiting from the disruption.
