Works passed away Dec. 1, 2010, after fighting a courageous battle with prostate
cancer. He was 40 years old.

James "Jim" Lafferty of Pennsylvania Machine Works passed away Dec. 1, 2010, after fighting a courageous battle with prostate cancer. He was 40 years old. True to his nature, he never lost his upbeat, positive attitude. From his illness, Lafferty was able to share his experience and advice for others battling the disease, as well as promote prostate cancer awareness.
As an owner and sales manager with Pennsylvania Machine Works in Aston, PA, Lafferty worked alongside family and friends every day. For the past three years, Lafferty walked in the "Gary Papa Run 4 Your Life" run/walk in Philadelphia. This past June, when he participated in the walk despite his pain, he was the top fundraiser for the third year in a row. He is survived by his beloved wife Jen and 5-yr.-old son Gavin.
All services will be held at St. Francis of Assisi Roman Catholic Church, Saxer Avenue, Springfield, PA. Relatives and friends are invited 5 to 9 p.m. Monday, Dec. 6th, and 9:30 to 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 7th. A funeral mass will begin 11 a.m. with burial to follow at Saints Peter & Paul Cemetery, Marple Twp.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Jim Lafferty's name may be sent to The Four Diamonds Fund to help children battling cancer at: A120 PO Box 852 Hershey, PA 17033-0852
