Obituary…J. Edward "Ed" Beck
J.
Edward "Ed" Beck, 81, a former vice president with Anvil Products and
founder of Beck Manufacturing, died April 16. He served with the U.S. Merchant
Marine escorting returning soldiers home from Europe
following World War II. After completing his service, he went to work with his
father at L.E. Beck & Son, a pipe nipple manufacturing company. In 1963 he
sold L.E. Beck & Son to Anvil Products and became an Anvil vice-president.
He left Anvil and formed Beck Manufacturing with his sons in 1971, where he
worked until his retirement.
