North American Technician Excellence (NATE) launched a new Web site,www.natex.org, with changes in criteria to its Consumer Contractor Connection (C3) contractor referral service. Effective Jan. 1, C3 continues as a free service but all contractors who participate in the 25% category need to have 50% of their technicians NATE-certified to remain listed. NATE is also raising the requirements to participate in the “Quality Circle” program, which moves from 75% to 80% of total technicians NATE-certified with at least one NATE-certified technician in each area of service and/or installation a contractor provides.
