April 10, 2008 ― House Recognizes National Plumbing Industry Week
The
resolution is meant to recognize the 125th anniversary of the Plumbing-Heating-Cooling
Contractors-National Association and the role the plumbing industry plays in
protecting the health and safety of the nation.
“This is a
significant acknowledgment of our industry’s contributions to society,” said PHCC
President Jim Finley (C.N. Finley, New Orleans, LA). “We
believe this gives National Plumbing Industry Week the recognition it
deserves.”
The resolution was introduced by Reps. Nydia
Velazquez (D-NY), chairwoman of the House Small Business Committee,
and Steve Chabot (R-Ohio), ranking member on the
committee. They wanted to recognize the commitment of the plumbing
industry, which is comprised of mostly small businesses.
