The Granite Group Wholesalers LLC, based in Concord, N.H., is acquiring the assets of County Supply of Lowell, Mass.

The Granite Group serves all New England states and eastern New York state through 17 branches and says it is the second largest plumbing and heating wholesaler in New England. It was created in January 1998 by the merger of two New England wholesalers: Central/Goulet Supply and Capitol Plumbing and Heating Supply. The company says it is among the top 50 largest wholesalers in the United States. It was ranked No. 64 in the 2003 Premier 150 listing of wholesalers compiled by SUPPLY HOUSE TIMES.

County Supply was founded in 1983 by owner Bill Curry. The wholesaler operates a 40,000-sq.-ft. facility that includes a 6,000-sq.-ft. showroom named Choices. County Supply concentrates on residential plumbing and the hydronic and HVAC contractor markets.

“Both companies consider themselves 'relationship' wholesalers,” P. Kevin Condron, president of the Granite Group, said in a statement. “We both value strong, genuine personal relationships with our customers and vendors.” Bill Curry is expected to remain and play a role into the future with the Granite Group.
