From the Metals Service Center Institute, U.S. and Canadian shipments of both steel and aluminum in August returned to the year-over-year trend that was experienced earlier in 2013 in contrast from modest growth displayed in July.

Shipments of steel from U.S. service centers continued their decline in June 2013 with a 4.7% decrease

Metal shipments from U.S. service centers in May 2013 were off the pace from May 2012 by 4.8%.

 Shipments for the U.S. industrial valve industry will grow 3% in 2013, increasing to nearly $4.3 billion according to figures recently released by Valve Manufacturers Association as part of its annual market forecast. 

 

The Metals Service Center Institute reports steel shipments in the U.S. totaled 2.5 million tons in December 2012, a 14.4% decrease from December 2011. A total of 41.2 million tons of steel was shipped in 2012, a 1.3% decrease compared to 2011.
