The U.S. Department of
Defense awarded MADCAD.com a one-year subscription contract for online access
to more than 800 building codes and standards from ASHRAE, ASME, BHMA, ICC and
NFPA.
The
U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, in cooperation with Franklin Electric
Co. and GE Infrastructure Sensing Inc., announced a voluntary recall of
electric motor controllers for submersible pump systems (Franklin), and single
beam carbon dioxide and temperature sensors (GE).
Although U.S. factory shipments of residential
heating equipment increased by a small percentage in December 2009, YTD numbers
have shown an overall drop.

The 10 Million Solar Roofs and 10 Million
Gallons of Solar Water Heating Bill of 2010 proposes to authorize rebates
which, along with other incentives, would cover up to half the cost of the 10
million solar power systems and 200,000 water heating systems.
Massachusetts may join the rising number of
governmental jurisdictions offering a popular way to finance solar photovoltaic
installations: with loans repaid through tax assessments. In addition to solar PV systems, solar water-heating equipment
and other energy-efficiency measures are often eligible for funding.
