Novi, Mich.-based BrassCraft Mfg. Co., celebrated its 70th anniversary on Sept. 5 with festivities at all its locations throughout the United States and Asia.

Activities began far in advance of the actual anniversary, the manufacturer noted. For 70 days prior to the anniversary, employees received a daily newsletter with a historical, yet fun fact about the company. Daily prizes were awarded.

“It’s an honor to work for a company with such great history,” BrassCraft President Rick Mejia said during his address to Novi headquarters employees.

On the day of the celebration employees wore a throwback T-shirt and enjoyed food, fun and additional prizes. Employees at Novi headquarters were treated to stories from two of its longest-tenured employees, Josh Jaime (38 years) and Mark Labadie (37 years). They spoke of their personal history with the company, including stints on the baseball team and in a golf league.

“Many things have changed over the years. However, the passion our employees have always had for the BrassCraft family and the passion they have for the work they do has never changed,” Jaime said.
