Rheem expands its line of tankless water heaters with the introduction of the Prestige series condensing and mid-efficiency tankless gas water heaters. Loaded with features that will save water, energy and installation time, and with diagnostics that ensure quick troubleshooting and fewer callbacks, the tankless units were built from the ground up with contractors in mind, the company notes. The water savings setting decreases water flow until it reaches the water heater’s set temperature, while the maintenance notice setting alerts homeowners after 1 ½ years of use, flashing a warning code to call for a service check. The new recirculation timer settings control the pump on the water heater itself, eliminating the need for an aquastat, timer and additional power outlet. Rheem’s Hot Start Programming minimizes the coldwater sandwich for continuous hot water without the cold water burst between back-to-back hot water needs. The heaters are eligible for federal tax credit paybacks of up to $300 through Dec. 31.
