American Valve held its 11th annual American Valve/Shriners Celebrity Golf Classic in July at Northshore Country Club in Charlotte, N.C. The tournament featured 40 NFL legends, including Hall-of-Famers Jack Youngblood, Dermontti Dawson and Bobby Bell. Sportscasters Mark May (a former Washington Redskins player) and Brad Nessler also were in attendance.

The event raised more than $1 million for the Shriners Hospitals for Children, a network of 22 nonprofit hospitals in North America. Children with orthopedic conditions, burns, spinal-cord injuries, cleft lip and palate issues are eligible for care and receive services in a family friendly environment, regardless of the patients’ ability to pay.
