World Vision honored Kohler Co. with its Crystal Vision Award at the 12th annual Crystal Vision Breakfast in April as part of KBIS 2012 in Chicago.
Kohler Co. donated $6 million in product to World Vision’s The Storehouse operation last year.
“We believe the health of communities and our businesses are intertwined and we are committed to strengthening both together,” Kohler Co. Group President of Interiors Rachel Kohler said in her acceptance speech. “We also know that the need to give back has been amplified. Our economy has been shaken to the core and more people than ever have found themselves unexpectedly in challenging dilemmas.”
HD Supply was named the 2012 Partner of the Year. Brian G. McInerney, HD Supply’s director of regional distribution for the northwest, accepted the award. HD Supply donated $2 million in product to The Storehouse last year. Lyle Hunnicutt, president of RainTree Associates, was honored with the Robert P. Atkins Lifetime Achievement Award.
Rohl Chief Operating Officer Lou Rohl, delivered the keynote address and laid out his company’s pyramid philosophy for “business and social responsibility.” From the base of basic needs to self-actualization at the pinnacle, Rohl noted, “these principals are omnipresent,” and giving what it can to World Vision and The Storehouse is a core value. Kohler agreed with Rohl, saying good business and community development go hand-in-hand.
