Tyler Pipe Co. Honors NYC Freedom Tower

Texas-basedTyler Pipe Co.is bringing a special touch to a special project.

On the 9-11th floors of the Freedom Tower - the new building being constructed on the former World Trade Center site in downtown New York City - will have commemorative “We Will Never Forget 9-11-01” stencling on its plumbing pipes.

All the piping inside the Freedom Tower will be from Tyler, but Eastern Regional Sales Manager Thad Hicks thought up the idea for the special message.

“These pipes will be on there (for) hundreds of years,” Hicks says. “No matter what happens, if they tear a wall down or move things around, those pipes will always be there and that phrase will always be there.”

Jon Ross, a sales rep for Dellon Sales, helped finish the deal, which called for 2-, 3-, 4- and 6-inch piping all made from 100% recylced cast iron. As a result, the tower will be certified LEED Platinum. “It’s a domestic product going into the most domestic property in America right now,” Ross said.
