Special Events - September 2011

September 1, 2011
A grand opening, a roundtable event and a commemoration are highlights this month.

Supply New England’s new showroom in North Attleboro, MA.

Supply New England Opens New Gallery

Regional wholesaler Supply New England opened its new Kitchen & Bath gallery Aug. 3 in North Attleboro, MA. The 6,000-sq.-ft. showcase features a Kohler Premier showroom as well as products from Bertch, Mouser, KraftMaid, Grohe, Symmons, Bain Ultra, among others.

The showroom is located in the Shaw’s Triboro Plaza and is open Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The new gallery offers services from experienced designers with knowledge in cabinetry, tile and bath.

“Our new North Attleboro location is our seventh gallery and our second Kohler Premier showroom,” Vice President Jamie Reardon said. “As this is the largest Kohler Premier showroom in New England right now, there’s nothing like this in our area.”

Reardon added that the showroom’s location will make it accessible from the surrounding communities in Massachusetts and Rhode Island.

Supply New England also has gallery locations in Uxbridge, Falmouth, West Yarmouth and Martha’s Vineyard, MA, as well as in Warwick, RI, and Guilford, CT.

Tyler Pipe Co. Honors NYC Freedom Tower

Texas-based Tyler Pipe Co. is bringing a special touch to a special project.

On the 9-11th floors of the Freedom Tower - the new building being constructed on the former World Trade Center site in downtown New York City - will have commemorative “We Will Never Forget 9-11-01” stencling on its plumbing pipes.

All the piping inside the Freedom Tower will be from Tyler, but Eastern Regional Sales Manager Thad Hicks thought up the idea for the special message.

“These pipes will be on there (for) hundreds of years,” Hicks says. “No matter what happens, if they tear a wall down or move things around, those pipes will always be there and that phrase will always be there.”

Jon Ross, a sales rep for Dellon Sales, helped finish the deal, which called for 2-, 3-, 4- and 6-inch piping all made from 100% recylced cast iron. As a result, the tower will be certified LEED Platinum. “It’s a domestic product going into the most domestic property in America right now,” Ross said.

Political Pundit George Will To Moderate PMI Roundtable

Journalist and political pundit George Will will take the moderator’s reigns for PMI’s Executive Roundtable Sept. 19 at the Liaison Capitol Hill in Washington.

Members of the panel are expected to include: Keith Allman, president of Delta Faucet Co.; Don Devine, CEO of American Standard Brands; Tim Jahnke, president and CEO of Elkay Manufacturing Co.; David Lingafelter, president of Moen; Tim O’Keeffe, CEO of Symmons Industries; William L. Strang, chairman of TOTO Mexico; and Jim Westdorp, group president of kitchen and bath for Kohler Co.

The panel will discuss relevant topics and answer questions from attendees. After the discussion, Will will offer a recap and the opening keynote address.

“It is an honor to feature this esteemed panel of top-notch executives at our fall conference,” PMI Executive Director Barbara C. Higgens said. “The PMI Roundtable provides attendees with a unique look at our industry through the eyes of seven influential thought leaders.”
