Eemax plans expansion within Conn., pursues EnergyStar certification

March 7, 2012
Eemax has outgrown its Oxford, CT, headquarters and is currently searching for larger facilities in the local area.

U.S. Rep Jim Himes (right) visits with Eemax's Jeff Hankins, VP of Operations and Technology and Kevin Ruppelt, President and CEO.

Eemax, a manufacturer of commercial, industrial and residential electric tankless water heaters, has outgrown its Oxford, Conn., headquarters and is searching locally for larger facilities with hopes of moving by September 2012.

U.S. Rep Jim Himes (D-CT 4th District) recently paid a visit to the Eemax headquarters. Himes aggressively works to connect small businesses with government resources and strives to ensure that local businesses have access to the capital they need to invest in their operations. "Small businesses are the heart of our economy," said Himes. "They create almost all of our new jobs and provide a daily demonstration of the entrepreneurial spirit."

Eemax is a positive example of a successful and growing U.S.-based manufacturing facility. "Eemax exhibits true American spirit by manufacturing innovative 'green' products that save energy, water, time, space and money," said Himes. "Their high quality products create jobs because they are manufactured right here in our own backyard."

Eemax is following Jim Himes' lead to keep and grow manufacturing jobs in America. As Kevin Ruppelt, Eemax president and CEO, explained, "Not only did his visit help with the growth of our company, but we are hopeful that it will help bring about change in Washington, D.C., allowing for us to continue succeeding in a competitive marketplace."

The Congressman's visit also brought forth the push towards introducing a bill into the House of Representatives that will increase the regulated capacity of electric tankless water heaters. For Eemax, the bill is the future - allowing for new developments and innovations.

In addition to the bill, Eemax continues to pursue ENERGY STAR® Certification and is collaborating with U.S. Rep Himes to achieve that goal.

"To obtain certification, we need significant support from state and federal agencies like the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency in Washington, D.C., that is why our connection to Jim Himes is important on so many levels," stated Ruppelt. "We have accomplished quite a bit at Eemax, but we want to keep that momentum going and continue to develop innovative, American-made products."
