Louisiana PHCC To Host Hospitality Event
During PHCC Connect 2009 in New Orleans, Oct. 21-23, the Louisiana PHCC
will be hosting a hospitality suite with a Bourbon Street balcony at the Royal
Sonesta Hotel on the evening of Oct. 22. All convention attendees are invited
to enjoy drinks, beads and a balcony overlooking the sights and sounds of Bourbon Street.
Who could forget the pictures of the flood-ravaged New Orleans levees during Hurricane Katrina? On Oct. 23, PHCC members have the opportunity to see how the levees have been renovated and strengthened to withstand storm surges. The Army Corps of Engineers will lead the tour of Hurricane & Storm Damage Risk Reduction System sites, including the Inner Harbor Navigation Canal Lock in the 9th Ward. Attendees will find out how the system works and what improvements are being made post-Katrina. (Space is limited. Pre-registration and additional fee required.)
