Baker Distributing Co. LLC,
Jacksonville, FL, acquired certain assets of Sandy, UT-based Air Conditioning
& Heating Supply (AC&H), and Wilmington Winnelson opened in Wilmington,
NC, to serve the North Carolina Southeast coast region.
Baker Distributing is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Watsco. Founded in 1986, AC&H - which operates from six locations in Utah and serves more than 500 air conditioning and heating
contractors - will continue to do business as Air Conditioning & Heating Supply and be managed by Floyd Siddoway and its existing management team.
“We welcome Floyd Siddoway and the AC&H team of associates and customers to the Baker family,” Carole Poindexter, president of Baker Distributing, said in a statement. “We are excited to support AC&H and build upon its market strength by offering more products at competitive prices, participation in our marketing programs and our state of the art inventory management and IT systems – and most importantly, provide the capital needed to grow in the Utah market.”
Baker operates six distribution hubs in Jacksonville, FL; Denton, TX; Tracy, CA; Baton Rouge, LA; Memphis, TN; and Wilmington, MA. Baker also currently operates service centers throughout the United States, including facilities in Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, California, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Vermont and Virginia.
The new Wilmington Winnelson, locally owned but associated with
WinWholesale, offers plumbing equipment and supplies to contractors in a
60-mile radius. The distributor provides counter sales pickup as well as
delivery service. Its inventory includes American Standard bathroom products,
A.O. Smith water heaters, Moen faucets, Elkay sinks and Lasco bathware.
Wilmington Winnelson is open from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
“Our business is based on customer service and having the products customers need when they need them,” Brian Daniel, president of Wilmington Winnelson, said in a statement. He is a 25-year veteran of the plumbing supply wholesale business in North Carolina. He noted that he and his associates have a combined 60 years of experience in the business and know the local area market.
Moore Supply, Conroe, TX, opened its newly renovated and expanded Bath
& Kitchen Showplace in Humble, TX, in September. Among the brands carried
are Mr. Steam, Kohler and Hansgrohe. Joe Simmons is showroom manager.
"I think it is one of the nicest and most concise showrooms currently available,” Simmons said in a statement. “All the displays are real and working.”
