Distributors Barnett, R.E. Michel and WinWholesale have announced recent expansion of their businesses, two through branch openings and one through an acquisition. Dayton, OH-based WinWholesale opened the Tampa Winnelson Co., its first in the Tampa Bay area, serving Hillsborough, Pasco, Pinellas and Polk counties. The wholesaler has also launched Winnelson units in Orlando and Vero Beach, FL.

“We look forward to another company opening in the state in the near future as we continue extending our seven industry brands,” Monte Salsman, WinWholesale’s chief operating officer, said in a statement.

Barnett, a national supplier of plumbing, electrical, and HVAC products based in Jacksonville, FL, has opened a 147,000 sq.-ft. distribution center at 6875 Best Friend Road in Doraville, GA, near Atlanta. The facility also features a Barnett Pro Center pick-up counter for contractors and stocks more than 28,000 products. Barnett held a grand opening in December attended by more than 400 customers. Suppliers including American Standard, American Water Heater, Noritz and Premier Faucet demonstrated their products.

R.E. Michel Co., Glen Burnie, MD, acquired Atlas Supply Co., an HVAC wholesaler based in Indianapolis. The company will continue to do business as Atlas Supply, affiliate of R.E. Michel Co. from its three locations (it has branches in Fort Wayne and South Bend, IN).

R.E. Michel is a wholesale distributor of air-conditioning, heating and refrigeration equipment, parts and supplies, with more than 200 sales locations in 22 states.
