Coburn Supply Co., based in Beaumont, TX, said that many of its Texas branches are recovering from Hurricane Ike and may still be under a mandatory evacuation. Two branches in Galveston, TX, one in Beaumont, TX, and one in Liberty, TX, were closed; two others (Groves and Friendswood, TX) were open to customers but had no power; the Huntsville, TX, branch had working phones but no computers or Internet service and lights were running on a generator.

The North Houston and the headquarters location were fully open as were all Louisiana locations. Trucks were running at the Texas central warehouse. Coburn’s Thibodaux, LA, branch was damaged by Hurricane Gustav. Someone with a sense of humor posted a sign outside the building: “Sorry for the inconvenience we are in the process of remodeling.”

The wholesaler has set up a Web site with updates on the status of its branches:click here.
