Southern Pipe & Supply's Marty Davidson Honored
Meridian, MS-based wholesaler Southern Pipe
& Supply announced that its chairman and owner, Marty Davidson, was
inducted into the Mississippi Business Hall of Fame. The company opened its
100th branch and is celebrating 70 years in business this
year.
Davidson became president of the wholesale firm in 1969 at the age of 28. He is a former president of the Southern Wholesalers Association and past chairman of the East Mississippi Business Development Corp., as reported in the Clarion-Ledger, Jackson, MS.
He first started working in the family business at age five and as a teenager, worked for the company after school. Today his son, Jay Davidson, serves as president.
