According to research in January by Industrial Information Resources (www.industrialinfo.com), industrial project spending in North America grew 36.9% in January 2008 when compared with the previous January. As of that time there was $327 billion worth of industrial projects scheduled to begin construction in 2008, with most of the growth coming from the energy sector.

January marked the second month in a row of robust project spending, following 31.2% growth in December 2007 after four months in a row of a declining Index.
