Gastite® corrugated stainless steel tubing (CSST) proved to be the fastest and easiest option for a newly built three-story, 4,700-sq.-ft. Craftsman-style home that was to be featured on the television program, “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition.” With only five days to build the entire home from the ground up, conventional black iron pipe was not considered a viable option for the gas piping in the home.

Following a layout that supplied gas to seven different appliances in the new home, two men were able to complete the entire installation in two and a half hours, using about 400 feet of CSST. The use of Gastite eliminated the cutting and threading needed with iron pipe and minimized the number of fittings, effectively reducing the number of potential leaks.

Gastite, a division of the Titeflex Corp., manufactures flexible gas piping systems for residential, commercial and industrial applications.
