The five “hot sectors” in the construction industry in 2004 are residential, office, amusement and recreation, transportation and manufacturing (selective), according to Ken Roper of FMI Corp., a management consulting firm, in a presentation to members of the Construction Contractors' Alliance at a recent meeting in Denver.

The weakest sectors in the construction industry are public safety, educational and power, Roper said.

CCA, an enhanced service group of the Plumbing-Heating-Cooling Contractors - National Association, serves larger plumbing and mechanical new construction contractors specializing in residential, industrial, commercial and institutional construction.

The next CCA meeting will be Feb. 16-18, 2005, at Melia San Lucas resort, Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. George Hedley of Hardhart Presentations will be the featured speaker.
