Colonial Commercial Corp., based in Hicksville, N.Y., reported a 37.6% increase in sales for the year ended Dec. 31. Net income was $1.6 million vs. $1.3 million in 2003. In September 2003 the company acquired substantially all of the assets of RAL Supply Group, Middletown, N.Y., a distributor of heating and cooling equipment and high-end plumbing fixtures. The increase in 2004 sales reflect about $12.7 million in sales related to the September 2003 RAL acquisition, compared to about $3 million in RAL sales reported in the fourth quarter of 2003.

Three more locations have been opened for RAL in the past year and half, according to Bernard Korn, chairman/CEO of Colonial. “Our continuing operations have had significant increases in sales and operating profits in the past five years,” he said in a statement.

Colonial distributes climate control systems and more than 350 different heating and air conditioning and high-end plumbing fixtures product lines through its Universal Supply Group, American/Universal Supply, and RAL subsidiaries to HVAC contractors.
