The Plumbing Manufacturers Institute (PMI) and the Bathroom Manufacturers Association (BMA), based in the United Kingdom and also serving Europe, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to formalize the working relationship already in place between the two organizations. The Memorandum will enable PMI and BMA to share pertinent information about emerging technical, scientific, legislative and regulatory developments in the world marketplace through publications, reports, association conferences and industry meetings, according to Barbara Higgens, PMI executive director. The two groups also will exchange invitations to their respective annual conferences.

“Obviously the world and the world marketplace have changed dramatically since PMI grew out of the Plumbing Brass Institute in the 1970s,” Higgens said in a statement. “Several years ago, we revised our bylaws and membership criteria to attract and welcome non-U.S.-based companies to the ranks of PMI. The outreach process continues through our participation in CEIR - the European Valve Association - and most recently with the signing of the MOU with the Bathroom Manufacturers Association.”
