Tom McCart, a legendary contractor salesman and later an HVAC industry consultant, passed away June 11 after a lengthy bout with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), commonly known as Lou Gehrig's disease. McCart was said to be the first salesman to sell $1 million worth of HVAC equipment in one year, accomplished in 1985 with Modern Air Conditioning of Fort Myers, Fla. He later founded his own HVAC training and consulting firm, No Secrets Inc., and served as a “Consult & Coach Partner” with the online Service Roundtable contractor affinity group.
