Trane and Plumbing-Heating-Cooling Contractors-National Association awarded the Trane/PHCC HVAC Contractor of the Year to David Shapiro of Shapiro & Duncan, a mechanical contracting company in Rockville, Md. Shapiro is a founder of Shapiro & Duncan, and he now focuses on providing training programs for educational institutions ranging from elementary schools to engineering colleges. He is known for his development of hands-on displays of HVAC and plumbing systems at construction shows at the National Building Museum, trade shows and shows at area schools, community colleges and engineering colleges.
