ECR International received a $500,000 grant from the Department of Energy to develop energy-saving technology. It allows ECR to develop and commercialize a device that will enable gas-fired home heating appliances to simultaneously generate electricity and heat. Successful development of this new technology, micro-cogeneration, will cut utility bills and provide back-up power in the event of an electricity outage. Sherwood Boehlert (R-NY); Tim Reed, president of ECR International; and Tom Reed, chairman of the board for ECR International.
